1st Hamburg Workshop on Agent-based Modeling of Environmental Challenges and Climate Policy

We are pleased to announce that the Research Unit Sustainability and Global Change (Sascha Hokamp, FNU), and the Research Group Climate Change and Security (Jürgen Scheffran, CLISEC) at the Cluster of Excellence “Integrated Climate System Analysis and Prediction” (DFG
EXC 177 CliSAP), Universität Hamburg, organize the 1st Hamburg
workshop on agent-based modeling with the aim to bring together PhD
students and researchers working on environmental challenges and
climate policy. Keynotes are given by Kristian Lindgren (Chalmers
University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden) on the complexity of
energy systems by agent-based modeling; by Andrea Roventini (Scuola
Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa, Italy) on integrated-assessment ABM of
climate policy; and by Klaus G. Troitzsch (Prof. Emeritus) on the
opportunities and limitations of ABMs in climate science. The workshop will take place on March 10th - 11th 2017 and is funded by CliSAP.

Scientific contribution is welcome by both, representatives from
social and natural sciences. To submit an abstract of 300 - 500
words, or a full paper dealing with one of the workshop topics, please send a pdf version via email to abm2017.clisap@uni-hamburg.de no
