Megadapt: A Retrospective
Megadapt explores the vulnerability of megacities to ponding and flooding events from storm surge. One part of this exploration involved the creation of a simulation to explore the interplay between public and private infrastructure investments and vulnerability of residents to potable water scarcity and flooding. This presentation overviews the structure of project, how the model components communicate, how the model is initialized and some of the visualizations and analysis created from the model. At the end of the presentation some future work is highlighted - in particular work for easing the development of tools and templating for easing containerization of R models and development of guidelines for creating simulation model components in R.
