10-week Undergraduate Research Experience: Disinformation Detection & Analytics

We are looking for diverse participants for a paid, hands-on summer research experience to learn more about the real-world impacts of disinformation. Students will choose topics that align with faculty expertise and pursue research projects that advance their skills in valuable STEM areas including data science, data analytics, information retrieval, applied machine learning, web archiving, and social computing.

Students will get close mentorship experience with participating faculty, whose diverse expertise ranges from computer science and engineering to higher education and social sciences. Participants will leave the program having acquired stronger computer skills, a network of like-minded students across different universities, and a support group of faculty mentors.

If you have students who you think would benefit from this type of research experience, please feel free to share the attached flyer. Below you can also find qualification information and dates that may help students determine if it’s a good fit. We are happy to discuss any questions you have. We look forward to reviewing the applications of the highly motivated students you recommend to the program.
