Agri-environment systems modeller and technical specialist

Exciting opportunity to join a world-class team in a fast paced start up to develop a tool to support sustainable decision making in agricultural systems. Must be able to start immediately. The role comes with an extremely attractive salary.

The primary responsibility will be the development of a quantitative framework that integrates the scientific understanding of sustainable agricultural practices from a range of economic and environmental perspectives. This will require: liaising between the scientific board and software engineers to find practical solutions; technical project management to direct the efforts of the team; and contributing to the direct development of some components of the framework.

Qualifications and skills:

Essential:

Experience of modelling agricultural production and/or environment. Strong quantitative background (e.g. environmental engineering, computer science, biological modelling) Technical problem solving Excellent communication skills Highly organised with the ability to work to tight deadlines Fluent in English

Desirable:

A Masters or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. environmental science/engineering) GIS and spatial modelling Proven experience of working as, or directly with, software engineers
