The Chair of Political Theory at the University of Bamberg is seeking Two Doctoral Researchers / Research Associates (m/f/d) for the DFG-funded project “Disinformation, Democracy and Epistemic Breakdown” • Start date: 1 November 2026 • Duration: 36 months • Working time: 65% of a full-time position • Salary: TV-L E 13 Application deadline: 15 August 2026
The interdisciplinary project combines political and democratic theory with agent-based modelling to investigate how perceptions of disinformation contribute to distrust and epistemic breakdown in democratic societies.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in political theory, political philosophy, computational social science, or agent-based modelling, as well as candidates with relevant programming experience. Mixed theoretical and computational profiles are explicitly encouraged. Both positions offer the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
