First US-RSE Workshop

First US-RSE Workshop

Initiatives in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and elsewhere are bringing together the community of people writing and contributing to research software at the national and international level. The United States Research Software Engineer Association (US-RSE Association) is part of that effort and brings together U.S.-based people who create, maintain, and contribute to the research software ecosystem.

Through a generous grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the first US-RSE Association community building workshop will be held April 21-22, 2020 in Princeton, NJ. This will be a workshop focused on planning the best path forward to grow the US-RSE Association. This workshop promises to be an important milestone in the growth of the US-RSE Association!

The workshop will have breakout sessions focused on a number of different topics pertinent to the US-RSE community. The workshop participants will be working together to generate content for the us-rse.org website that promotes and supports current/future RSEs in alignment with the mission of the US-RSE Association. See more about the overall workshop as well as the preliminary agenda at https://us-rse.org/2020-april-workshop/.

The deadline to indicate interest in participating in the workshop is Dec. 13, 2019. Please see https://us-rse.org/2020-april-workshop/application/ for details.
