Postdoctoral Position – Agent-Based Modeling (full-time)

The Institute of Agricultural Economics and Social Sciences in the Tropics and Subtropics – Chair of Land Use Economics searches for a highly qualified candidate at post-doctoral level. The position will focus on agent-based modeling of agricultural land use with special consideration of learning, group decisions and collective action. The candidate will contribute to the joint research efforts of meteorologists, soil scientists, agronomists and agricultural economists at Universität Hohenheim.

We expect experience in interdisciplinary research teams and in combining biophysical and socioeconomic approaches. Background in agricultural or land use science is required; knowledge of linear programming would be an asset.

The successful candidate will be based in Stuttgart, Germany, and become member of an international research team (working language English). The position involves travel to project sites in Germany and overseas plus supervision/teaching at BSc/MSc level. The initial appointment is for one year but can be extended up to six years by mutual consent. The salary is around EUR 47,500 (gross including social security) depending on family status and qualification.
