The 19th annual Social Simulation Conference (SSC 2024) will take place from 16th to 20th September 2024 at the Cracow University of Economics, Poland. The conference will be hybrid, allowing participation on-site and online possible. This year’s special theme is “Social Simulation - crossroads between social science and computational methods”, focused on modelling of social phenomena, computational aspects, and the theory linking these two scientific fields.
Call for submissions
SSC 2024 seeks high-quality submissions addressing original research in the domain of social simulation and computational social science. All work must be original, i.e. must not have appeared in conference proceedings, books or journals, and must not be under review for other archival conferences, books or journals. All accepted papers will be considered for publication in the proceedings (Springer), unless the author(s) choose(s) otherwise. For all submissions aiming for the post-proceedings, second review process will take place.
Additionally, a selection of the best full papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in JASSS (upon further review by the journal referees but with a special peer review track involving also some referees already reviewing the same papers at the conference).
SSC24 will have the following special tracks:
Complexity in Organization, Management, and Economics Empirical Agent-Based Modeling ESSA@work Microsimulation and Agent-based Modeling NISE: Norms and Institutions in the Social Environment Polarisation and reconciliation Population Synthesis Qual2Rule: Using qualitative data to inform behavioral rules in agent-based models Sense & Sensibility: Modelling human deliberation and decision-making Simulation in Crises Social Identity Approach Modeling Social Networks in Agent-Based Models Social Simulation and Games Social Simulations for SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Uncertainty Characterization for Social Simulation SSC 2024 seeks submissions in the following categories:
