Special Issue of LAND on ABM and Landscape Change

We invite submissions to a Special Issue of LAND on Agent-Based Modelling and Landscape Change: http://www.mdpi.com/journal/land/special_issues/abm_landscape

This special issue aims to showcase innovative uses of ABM for investigating and explaining landscape change and dynamics and to explore and identify how researchers in different disciplines can learn from one another to innovate further. We are inviting researchers from across a range of disciplines (including physical geography, hydrology, ecology, land change science, economics, alternative histories, archaeology, sociology, psychology and others) to submit papers to the special issue that exhibit some form of innovation in ABM. This innovation may come in the form of computational, conceptual, analytical, participatory or epistemological advances for a range of aims and motivations associated with landscape change and dynamics.

We want to emphasise a multidisciplinary dialogue in this special issue and would be interested to hear how colleagues define innovation in their work and what direction they think ABM (in the context of landscape change) should take. If you have an idea for a contribution to submit as a paper we’d be happy to discuss. Please email James Millington [email protected] or John Wainwright [email protected]

Land (ISSN 2073-445X) is a new open access journal and publication fees are fully waived for papers submitted in 2014. The deadline for manuscript submissions for this special issue is 31 December 2014. Full details at: http://www.mdpi.com/journal/land/special_issues/abm_landscape
