The World Conference on Natural Resource Modeling, organized annually by the Resource Modeling Association, brings together scientists, stakeholders, and students interested in mathematical modeling of renewable and exhaustible resources.
For the first time in South America, the 2020 World Conference on Natural Resource Modeling will be held on January 8-10, 2020 in Valparaiso, Chile, hosted by Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María. The theme of the conference is “Decision support methods for natural systems at risk”.
The conference focuses on how quantitative applied research from diverse disciplines can assess different levels of risk, support decisions oriented to minimize them, and propose approaches for operationalizing sustainability concepts. Special attention is devoted to fishery, ecology, biodiversity, wildfire, water, pollution mitigation, and natural resource management in general. One of the WCNRM2020 main goals is thus, to foster cooperation among disciplines of mathematics, economics, management, ecology, energy, and computer sciences, among others.
